Thanks to Mark Southard of Petanque Louisville for getting the earliest photos of the Midwest Petanque Tournament in Chicago this past weekend. As you can see, despite some muddy conditions, the tournament went on, with about 15 teams participating. Saturday's wet conditions forced the event into a 2-day tournament, with Sunday being sunnier and turning the terrain into a harder (faster!) surface.The top photo shows Midwest Counselor, Joe Zajac testing out the surface (did the cochonnet float?)
