Hey... isn't #1 in strict violation of the "No Open Toed Shoes" rule?
Nope, because he (or she) is NOT WEARING open toed shoes, so therefore there is NO violation...
Actually Article 39 of International Petanque Rules states:
...Decent dress is demanded of each player (bare torso and bare feet are not acceptable). Any player who does not observe these rules will be disqualified from the competition after a warning from the Umpire.
