Petanque and the Compuware Corvette Pit Crew

Things were definitely roaring loud at Campus Martius Park this afternoon, with stock car pit crews giving displays of their fast tire changing amidst screeching, burning rubber corvettes and stock race cars.

Afterwards, the crew (about 10 guys in the yellow with checkered jerseys) watched us play some petanque.

Through it all, Wayne, Pat, Deric and Jeff played concentrated boule.

I didn't recognize Wayne without his great hat from Sunday! I guess he does have eyes under there... although they still look shady! ;-)

Wayne actually is the better dressed of all of our members. I only wish the president of the Michigan Petanque Club could encompass such panache!

Thanks Jeff, IZOD and I thank you.
Concentrated boule playing didn't help us beat you and Pat, but Deric and I gave you a run for it.
Maybe next time.

Today (Thursday) we played a great set of mixed doubles (Pat; Tim; Mike; John; and I) were in full boule combat. The nice thing about the lunchtime petanque is there's always a game available - and you're never sure who is going to be there.
