It was a relaxing Saturday for petanque. Where the typical weekday would have a dozen players needing sorting into teams for an hour's worth of boule - the Saturday session has fewer player (different players) - for a longer span of play (1pm-5pm).
Today's group (
Dan C.; James H.; Cheryl D.; Mike D.) was joined by
Bob Moyer from North Carolina. Bob was visiting his grandchildren and likes to stop by the club to play for a few hours.
We also welcomed new players to the piste;
Greg &
K (
seen here standing with James)

who played very well after a brief (5 minute) lesson. That's what petanque is all about - bringing the curious together to play a 100 year old sport - while socializing and enjoying a lazy Summer weekend.
